  • Student’s full name
  • Student’s IRN (student ID number)

  • Letter from a provider with any scholarship disbursement requests

How are scholarships disbursed?

scholarships are disbursed in compliance with the provider’s terms. If the provider does not indicate disbursement information, the University of Phoenix will apply the funds to the student’s account to be used only for tuition and fees.

Scholarship funds are considered part of the student’s financial aid package. Receiving a scholarship may require students to reduce or repay their need-based financial assistance.

How do I request information about a student’s financial aid status?

Requesting information regarding a student’s financial aid status must be handled by the University of Phoenix Financial Aid Processing Center. 
Students must complete a FERPA release listing the scholarship provider in order for this request to be processed.

How long does it take to receive a refund?

Excess funds or refunds will be returned according to the term(s) specified by the provider. If the provider does not indicate refund and/or excess fund information, the University of Phoenix will mail a refund or excess funds back to the provider. Refunds are processed within 10 business days and refund checks are issued by University of Phoenix Corporate Accounting. It may take up to six weeks to receive your refund check. Contact the Center for Scholarship Excellence if you do not receive your check within six weeks.
